KUNG-FU & FITNESS

Although fitness is not a prerequisite to begin your Ving Tsun Kung Fu training, by joining our classes your levels of fitness, flexibility and coordination will improve significantly over time.

Kung Fu can be translated as 'any skill that is acquired through learning or practice'; so, as in any discipline, the more effort the student puts into their training, the greater their results will be.

Classes include warm up exercises and stretching for flexibility, pad drills for skill, coordination, fast reflexes and fitness, and we can also coach in resistance exercises and weight training for muscle tone and body building.

The Ving Tsun fighting drills together with controlled sparring will also help to improve your fitness level.

FIT TO FIGHT?

Fighter Fitness sessions are held in Stafford each month. This training helps you to build the stamina you need to apply your Martial Arts taring in a ring or a street confrontation. Starting with a warm up and then a 1.5 mile run followed by 45 minutes of varied fitness training. Sessions will also include periodic fitness assessments based on military fitness standards.

This is also an opportunity for our advanced students to test their techniques under pressure but in a safe and controlled environment.

Fitness sessions can also be booked as a 'Private Training' session or with a small group.
